Regulations Regarding Fences, Sheds,
and Swimmimg Pools
Open
Burning Rules - Open burning is regulated
by the state of Massachusetts. Each year
the state determines whether open burning
will be allowed. If it is allowed, the
rules usually are:
- Burning
allowed from Jan. 15th - April 30th.
- A
permit must be acquired from the Fire
Dept. on the same day of burning.
- Burning
is allowed between 10:00 am and 4:00
pm.
- A
hose or other approved extinguishing
device must be readily available.
- Tree
trimmings only. No leaf burning allowed.
- Fire
must be 75 feet away from all buildings.
- Fire
should be tended to at all times.
- Excessive
smoke or complaints will be grounds to
void the permit.

Winter
Parking Ban
The
town-wide winter parking ban is in effect
from every year from December 1
through March 15th,
from 12 midnight – 6:00
am. Parking is
permitted in the
municipal lots
on a 1st come
1st serve basis.
Your vehicle must
be removed by
8am the following
day. Vehicles
must be removed
during "inclement" weather
for snow removal purposes.
Signs
announcing Milford's parking ban are posted
on major roads leading into Milford including
Routes 16, 85, 109 and 140.
