
The mission of the Greenleaf Garden
Club is to promote the knowledge and
love of gardening and civic development
in the community of Milford. The club
meets the third Monday of every month at
7:30 pm, September through December and
March through June. Meetings are held
at the First Congregational Church on
Congress Street.
The
President is Frances Stone.
The Vice-President is Carol Burke.
Thirtieth
Anniversary was recognized in 1998.
On-going
activities include:
Garden
Therapy
Flower
arranging workshops are held at the Milford
Geriatric Authority on the third Wednesday
of each month at 1:30 pm, hosted by Shirley
Pattenden. Appoximately 30 residents participate
each month. All club members are encouraged
to participate in this important activity.
Junior
Gardening
Milford
school children are given the opportunity
to participate in gardening programs on
a monthly schedule during the school year.
The program is hosted by Maria O'Regan,
and topics covered include birds, wildlife,
and conservation concepts.
Community
Beautification
A
long range program has been implemented
within the town of Milford to beautify
the grounds of the town library, Louisa
Lake Park, Calzone Park, General Draper
Park, and the Main Stree traffic islands.
Christmas
Gallery of Arts and Crafts
This
annual fund-raiser supports many on-going
projects such as Garden Therapy, Junior
Gardening, scholarships, and seasonal plantings.

Art
in Bloom
The
Greenleaf Garden Club particpates in this
annual event at the Museum of fine Arts
in Boston, where club member exhibit floral
arrangements designed to compement a work
of art. Through the years, the Greenleaf
Garden Club has won many awards for their
entries.

Milford Youth Center
The
Milford Youth Center was established
to provide area youth with a a safe
place in which to particpate in athletic,
educational, social, and cultural activities.
A gymnasium, game room, and computers
are available to youth patrons on a
daily basis. The facility is open 2:30
- 8:00 pm Monday - Friday to youths
ages 10-17. For information on programs
