After Prom Committee - The Milford High School After Prom Committee is dedicated to providing our kids with a safe and happy senior prom experience. The committee is looking for parent volunteers to assist on various committees in planning for the After Prom Party to be held at the high school on Friday, May 25th. Community Supper is held every Sunday, September through June at 4:45 p.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 23 Pine St. The mission is to provide a free, hot, nutritious meal every Sunday for anyone in need. Area volunteers are always needed. Please consider joining or forming a cook team, a set up, a serve and clean up team, or a baking team. Council on International Educational Exchange -Open your heart and home…Host families in Milford are needed for international high school students! Students between the ages of 15-18 will arrive in August and are in need of those willing to open their home and heart! Students have their own spending money and insurance. Host families can be anyone over the age of 25 years…single parents, retired folks, empty nesters, or homes already bustling with activity! Educational Surrogate Parent Program - Do you have 10-20 hours a year to help a child receive the special educational services vital for a successful future? Volunteers in the Milford area are needed to act as special education decision-makers for children in state custody. Responsibilities include attending team meetings, receiving progress reports, approving an education program, and monitoring the child's services. The Greater Milford Unit of the American Cancer Society is recruiting new members for its Road to Recovery program. Volunteers are needed to drive cancer patients to and from life-saving treatment. Please call 1-800-ACS-2345.

The Greater Milford Unit of the American Cancer Society sponsors the Relay for Life every year. Teams of people from all walks of life have fun while raising much-needed funds to fight cancer and raise awareness of cancer prevention and treatment.

ESL/Literacy Program based in the Milford Town Library needs tutoring volunteers. Become a literacy volunteer and give the gift of the English language to the many people eager to learn to read and write. Milford Explorers Post 29 - The Milford Exploring Program is an educational program designed to give young people between the ages of 14-21 a look inside a career in law enforcement. The Post is affiliated with the Learning for life center/Boy Scouts of America. All Milford Explorers are expected to maintain high academic and attendance requirements. As representatives of the community, the Explorers are also expected to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

Friends of The Milford Upper Charles Trail - The trail offers the opportunity to safely walk or bike to various places within the community and to neighboring towns via a corridor that is not shared with motorized vehicles. The friends group is always looking for help in trail maintenance, program development, and fund raising. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Senior Center. Guiding Eyes for the Blind is a non-profit service dog organization in need of volunteers from the Milford area to be puppy raisers. Puppy raisers are people who open their homes and their hearts to future guide dogs for their first 15 to 18 months of life, then return them to Guiding Eyes for the Blind for special training. The school provides full support to puppy raisers through a local coordinator and instruction, and reimburses all approved veterinary expenses. VistaCare - VistaCare, a hospice provider, is in need of volunteers to make friendly visits and offer companionship for our patients throughout the region Volunteers DO NOT provide any personal or physical care for patients.
